Day of Caring

On Wednesday, August 19th, HSBC bank in conjunction with the United Way and the Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy took part in the National Day of Caring. Approximately 125 volunteers helped to remove hundreds of invasive European Buckthorn trees in South Park. European Buckthorn is a rapid growing plant that is not indigenous to this area and out competes native species for sunlight and nutrients in the soil.
